In this episode of Goddess in Training, I sit down with therapist and intuitive healer Nyomi Roth to explore the rich terrain of embodiment, ancestral wisdom, and emotional healing. We talk about:
Integrating traditional therapy with energy work
Somatic cues and how the body speaks what the mouth cannot
The spiritual gifts passed down through family lines
Parentification, childhood trauma, and learning how to play again
Working with clients from conservative religious backgrounds
What it means to truly meet someone where they are
And why it's so important to keep asking: Is this mine to carry?
This conversation is one for the deep feelers, the cycle breakers, the ones tending the family line—backward and forward.

💫 The Knowing Beneath the Words
There’s something sacred about sitting across from someone and feeling the unspoken language between you. That’s what it was like with Nyomi Roth.
We recorded this episode in-person, which I’m doing more of these days—because something happens when two people settle into presence, without screens or script. This conversation unfolded slowly and powerfully, like opening a locked door in a quiet house.
Nyomi is a therapist, yes. But also a seer. A bridge between modalities and worlds. She speaks fluently in the language of both science and soul—one foot in the clinical and one in the mystical. She understands the nervous system, but also the ancestors.
We talked about what it means to grow up too quickly. About how many of us—especially as women, especially as empaths—were praised for being “mature for our age,” when really we were carrying too much. We talked about being children in rooms filled with unspoken tension, knowing something was wrong before we had the words for it.
And we talked about the body—how it remembers, how it signals, and how it calls us back home.
Nyomi shared stories from her time working in nursing homes as a teenager, where she witnessed death and transition up close. And from that early brush with endings came a deeper beginning: the realization that the veil is thin, and that sometimes, when we feel something we can’t name, it’s because we’re not meant to dismiss it. We’re meant to listen.
She’s someone who walks through the world with reverence for spirit. Someone who has created altars before she knew the word. Someone who has been shaped by both trauma and choice—and is choosing healing again and again.
Something that stayed with me long after we wrapped was this question: What is your body trying to tell you?
Not your mind, not your calendar, not your Instagram algorithm—but your body. Your gut. Your dreams.
In a world that keeps us busy, Nyomi is a quiet call to slow down. To feel. To remember. And to honor the story not just of your life, but of those who came before you—and those who are yet to come.
If this episode speaks to something in you, I hope you’ll share it with a friend. These are the kinds of conversations that ripple outward.
With love,
Sarah
