On Surrender, Standards & Being Ready to Be Met
(Preview of my conversation with Amy Untamed)
Before we dive in, a quick reminder:
I’m still running a special on my Transition Doula offerings — support for threshold moments, identity shifts, relationship transitions, and every “holy shit, something is changing” season we walk through. If you’ve been feeling the pull to clarify what’s next or anchor into the version of you emerging, this is a beautiful moment to get support at a lighter investment. You can read more on my website or email me directly to claim the special.
Where Surrender Meets Standards
If you’ve been here for a while, you might remember an older post where I wrote about the unexpected spiritual power of submission — not as obedience or diminishment, but as a doorway into presence, safety, and deep inner knowing.
Those experiences taught me something I didn’t fully understand then:
the kind of surrender that liberates you has nothing to do with another person.
It’s the surrender that happens inside you — when you stop gripping your life so tightly that your knuckles ache, when you finally exhale, when you trust yourself enough to soften.
That energy resurfaced this week as I spoke with Amy Untamed on the podcast.
Our conversation reminded me that the same inner softness I once found through rope, breath, and stillness…
is the softness I’m now ready to bring into a relationship.
Not from need.
Not from longing.
But from wholeness.

A Goddess for This Season
The goddess who came forward as I wrote this is Inanna — she who descends, sheds, surrenders, dies to an old identity, and returns more luminous than before.
Inanna teaches us that surrender isn’t collapse.
It’s transformation.
It’s choosing truth over performance.
It’s trusting yourself enough to release the layers that no longer align with the woman you’re becoming.
Her energy feels aligned with this moment — both personally and collectively.
A reminder that softening is not weakness. It is initiation.
The Part of Our Conversation That Opened Me
Amy has been celibate for over a year, and not from deprivation — from devotion. Listening to her speak so clearly about what she’s no longer willing to accept in relationships felt like someone naming the last piece of something I’ve been circling.
Because here’s the truth:
I am finally ready to be met.
To be loved at the level I now love myself.
To be chosen with the same intentionality I bring.
To experience partnership that honors the softness I’ve reclaimed — not the hardness I had to create for survival.
Talking to Amy made me realize I’m no longer calling in a relationship from the place of wanting to be completed or validated…
but from a place of wanting to be expanded.
There is a difference.
And my whole body knows it.
This episode weaves through:
celibacy as a spiritual practice
raising your standards without apology
the safety required for true intimacy
surrender as a doorway to intuition
creating from the energy of “I am enough”
calling in love from wholeness instead of hunger
It’s one of the most aligned conversations I’ve had in a long time.
We’re Allowed to Want More
This season of my life feels like the moment after Inanna returns from the underworld — barer, clearer, softer, stronger. I’m not gripping anymore. I’m not performing anymore. I’m not hustling for crumbs of connection.
I’m choosing from the frequency of a woman who knows her worth — and is willing to wait for the kind of love that feels like exhale, presence, and truth.
If you’re in that place too, you’ll feel this episode.
If this resonated…
